We stopped at Liard Hot Springs and swam around for a couple of hours. It was way fun....
The springs area has really been spiffed up since the last time I was there!!
Then we stopped at the sign-post park in Watson Lake. It was amazing how many signs there were from Texas...and from place all over the world!!!
Another fun development of the day was meeting Robert from Oregon. He had stopped along the road to take some photos where we were stopped, took our picture...and then passed us off and on throughout the day. Jane and Pete...a couple from Minnesota...we actually first saw in Dawson Creek where we took their picture for them in front of the Alaska highway sign...then we met them last night at the RV park...and supposedly they are staying at our RV park tonight!! They didn't really know what they'd be doing in Alaska...so Adrienne gave them a copy of our itinerary to give them some ideas.
We figure we'll see all of these folks here and there along this trip...since they are all headed to the Kenai peninsula!!
At the one gas station in Toad River, we met some Mennonite Church high schoolers traveling by school bus from the Vancouver area to Watson Lake. They are going to be camp counselors for a week. We then saw them at the hot springs...and then again at the sign post park!!...I was feeling like we were beginning to develop a traveling "family"...just like being on the Camino trek!!
Tomorrow is a LONG day's drive to Beaver Creek!!...off to sleep in the tent!!
