Spring Garden 2015

Blackberries are flowering, potatoes are showing in the new bed, and the bees just LOVE the buckwheat flowers.

Irises are blooming everywhere.

The palm keeps growing...I wish it was a date palm!!

The kiwis and perennial runner beans will need some trellising.

Hoping the pruned fig and loquat trees will produce better this year. This is a "reclaimed" bed that used to be filled with weeds, cactus, some cannas and lots of wild sunflowers.

The outdoor shower/laundry area.

Cover crops, spring wheat and potatoes loved the spring rains.

The herb/flower circle bed is temporarily covered in wild sunflowers!!...that will soon be remedied.

Looking forward to a good harvest of onions.

Many compost piles are ready for sifting.

Your Sweet Arrival

It's Been a Long Time Coming....1977 performance...for you my birthday girl...your sweet arrival in my life was WONDERFUL!!

These are little packets of light & you need to plant them early in the year & remember to mark where they were because lots of times they look like weeds in the beginning & it's not until later that you see how beautiful they really are. Packets of Light

Mr. Morgan's Last Love:
-You know when you love something so much you start to hate it?
-Yes.
-Is that what happened to you and your books?
-I stopped looking at my books when I stopped loving life.
-Why did you stop loving life?
-Well, you don't love life itself. You love... places, animals, people, memories, food, literature, music. And sometimes you meet someone... who requires all the love you have to give. And if you lose that someone, you think everything else is gonna stop too. But everything else just keeps on going. Giraudoux said, you can miss a single being, even though you are surrounded by countless others. Those people are like extras. They cloud your vision. They are a meaningless crowd. They are an unwelcome distraction. So you seek oblivion in solitude. But solitude only makes you wither.
